Denier is pronounced den-yer and is a measurement of the weight of the strands that are woven to make the material. A higher number (up to 1000 denier) means that the fabric is sturdier. However, 1,000 denier nylon is too stiff to hang as a drape. It is usually made into heavy duty horse travel bags and luggage.
We have found that 500 denier is the perfect weight, suitable to withstand normal traveling wear and tear.
Choose Cordura Nylon for its reasonable price. It is water-repellent, fade-resistant to passive sun exposure, and mold/mildew resistant. If your horse show stall is always inside a barn, then Cordura Nylon should be your choice. Occasional sun will probably not cause it to fade.

Lining Fabric
We line some of our products with fleece. If you have a color preference, please let us know at the time of your order. Otherwise, we will use black fleece lining. And, we suggest black fleece lining for riding boot bags if your boot polish is black, since some of the polish may rub off into the lining.
